R U Ready?

Men ... Are You Ready?

Are you ready to support each other? Ready to go the distance? Ready to do what is needed?

Mark 2:1-12 (ESV)
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home." He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

These friends were willing to go the distance for their friend. The lived out their faith and put it to use, whatever it took. We do not hear about whether they got some grief from the home owner about the roof, or about the people who may of been hit by falling debris. I think that the reason for that is because to those friends these were secondary things and they would do what they needed to make it right later, after their priority of helping their friend was done.

We are called to this type of walking with each other by faith. Go the extra mile and make a difference in your brother's lives.

Psalm 133 (ESV)
1Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity
2It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
3It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the LORD has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

A great truth for us to remember. We will walk together as brothers in unity. Let us strive to stand firm in our unity and expand our unity to others.

Press on my brothers.

Great event last wednesday! We had approx 75 people join us at the Church to watch Fireproof the movie. What a great show with some great messages for us about God, life, love, marriage, addictions, anger and the gospel was so very present in it.

Anyway we started the Love Dare challenge and have a list growing for some LIFE group follow up sessions. It is very good that as men we could partner with the HIT Chicks to put the event on. Thanks ladies.

HIT Men?

What are HIT Men? is this some sort of armed and dangerous group? Maybe ...

Really we are a band of brothers who believe in coming together for the following purposes.

Honesty
Integrity
Transparency

The idea for this group began as 5 of us men went to a Promise Keepers conference in Calgary Alberta in 2007. WE decided that the conference was good but we needed to do something next..

So we began a group, after a lady asked if it was a woman's group we adopted this name H.I.T. Men. The group has grown and changed over the past year and a half, and God is at work.

We will post some of the stories here of what He is doing in our midst.

Praise God for His work in our lives!!!
