Your Decisions Count!

Men!  Today we will be reading Psalm 1.  I will be quoting parts of it here from the ESV but feel free to read it in which ever translation you prefer.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.  (Verses 1&2 of Psalm 1 in the ESV)

Men today I want to challenge you to look at your decisions and your sources for decision making.  Often we find ourselves receiving counsel from those who really are in opposition to God, yet we see value in their words. We need to decide to follow counsel that honors God first.  We need to be reminded to reach out to the lost and  develop relationships with them in order to share the gospel with them but we must be careful to not become a part of their lifestyles that move against God.  We need to be careful that as we have issues or concerns we do not become a scoffer.  Your best defense is the Word of God.  Get into the Word.  Decide to be a man of the scriptures and allow God to use them to break you and shape you into who He wants you to become.

Your decisions count, they are an important statement to the people around you about what God has done in your life.  The way we live and the choices we make reveal who we are inside.  Do not allow that "old man" to be shown, decide to reveal the "new man" in Jesus Christ that resides in you.
